At the Berlin site of Diehl Metal Applications GmbH, the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems were comprehensively modernized. The aim of the project was to provide energy-efficient and reliable climate control for the work areas, ensure safe exhaust management of chemical processes in electroplating, and guarantee a dependable supply of process heat for the electroplating systems.

Key Project Measures

  • Installation of a new cooling system with a modern Quantum AIR chiller (refrigerant 1234ze)
  • Integrated free-cooling function for direct cooling at low ambient temperatures, significantly reducing energy consumption
  • Integration of the existing hot-water network via heat exchangers to ensure demand-oriented heat supply
  • Installation of a 3 m³ buffer tank to compensate for temperature fluctuations
  • Four independent heating circuits for the electroplating systems using high-performance instantaneous heaters
  • Installation of a 9 m long rooftop ventilation unit with special materials suitable for chemical exhaust air
