At the Isola GmbH site in Düren, the central cooling supply system was comprehensively modernized on behalf of RheinEnergie AG.

The aim was to improve energy efficiency and optimize operational reliability. During ongoing production, the system was converted to state-of-the-art turbo chiller technology combined with a free cooling system.

The new installation ensures a sustainable and future-proof cooling supply with maximum efficiency, while at the same time reducing the risk of production downtime.

Key Project Measures:

  • Installation of a turbo chiller with magnetically levitated compressor shafts
  • Combination with a free cooling system utilizing ambient air for cooling at low outside temperatures
  • Automatic switching between operating modes to optimize energy usage
  • Energy-efficient pump control system
  • Installation of the equipment in a container unit *ChillCon* including outdoor dry coolers
